I’m frankly, quite peeved off to the high Heavens

Absolute outrage, RUINED my 2010...

Evening one and all,

On seeing your new advert featuring Queen's "Somebody to Love", I was shocked and somewhat dumbfounded. My issues do not lie with the beautiful rendition of the song, if anything, the vocalist is the salvation of such a shoddy bit of advertising.

No, it is in the pathetic attempt to pass off the clearly MALE character as a woman. In all previous adverts, and even in your logo, the flat chest, the broad shoulders, the "Coolio" hairstyle, ALL point towards this character being a man. Imagine the state of mistrust I found myself in when I sat down to enjoy 'the new Confused.com' advert with the familiar face, though admittedly akin to Milo from the Tweenies, the face that I have found solace in for almost 3 months, this MALE face, and thrust upon me in a sporadic-pony-tailed woman.

If you intend on maintaining your customers, please ensure that you cease to lull people into your deceitful web of lies, only to present them with a stripy woman.

  • Hi Becky,

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback!

Firstly, we’re very pleased to hear you like Louise Dearman’s rendition of the song ‘Somebody To Love’ – we agree that she did a very good job!

However, I’m very sorry to see that you don’t agree with the female characterisation of the Confused.com logo. Our logo, Cara, was actually modelled on our founder Kate Armstrong, so the logo has always been female. We knew this may come as a shock to some people when we launched the new TV campaign. However, we felt it right that she remain female.

I hope this fact won’t discourage you from using Confused.com in future!

  • I’m very annoyed.
I very much dislike Confused.com advertisement on TV, as the song obviously is Queen - Somebody To Love but to younger generations will be lead to believe that song is just from the advert and they will only associate the song with the advert and confused.com

What a way to ruin a great song.

  • I’m betrayed
I was shocked and ashamed of your company on discovery of the logo's new gender. This disgusting revelation has given me no other option but to abandon your company and force me to use Compare the Market.com. I have used search engines to find images of your founder Kate Armstrong, only to find with horror that she bears no resemblance to the logo, past or present, whatsoever. I sincerly propose that you put an end to this foul conspiracy and sinister manipulation. I will not be using any of your inferior services again; I've had enough of your lies. Confused.com? More like a poorly fused together con.
    Deeply Disappointed.

  • John, you are right to be so outraged. I am sick of people worrying about things such as the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and the state of the UK economy, when there are clearly greater issues afoot.

You get the pitchfork, i will bring my lynching rope - they are based in Cardiff, meet you at Bristol services and wer can share a lift and storm the place together.

    FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!
