Lindsay Ballantyne
Changed description of Cheats liars robbing by Lindsay Ballantyne to Cheats liars robbing. After only having my insurance for 2 months i have tonight cancelled and told them they will not be getting the cancellation fee. After the 14 day cooling off period they put my insurance premium up by £10 per month because they didnt have proof of my no claims bonus. So i contacted previous insurere who sent it straight away. I uploaded it to one call. Apparently it wasnt on headed paper. Ummm yes it was. They have also charged me £39 admin fee. Really wish i had seen this forum before taking out the policy. When you are setting up your own business you have to count every penny hence why i went with one call but in the long run it would of been cheaper to go with another more well know insurance company. I will stress PLEASE DO NOT USE ONE CALL it will cost you more money in the long run. I will also be writting to the ombudsman about them.. why or why are confused.com not saying no more business from them there are enough complaints on here to substantiate the claims that are being made on here...... feeling so angry that companies like this can do this. It is no wonder there are a lot of people who dont have insurance although i dont condone this sort of behaviour at all. Please please confused.com do something about this company on your website.

Changed reply in topic of Clarification of the "declined, cancelled or special terms imposed" question by Dave to Hi, My marks and Spencer car insurance was cancelled as a direct debit didn't go through on the correct date whilst I was away and didn't have a chance to read my mail before it was cancelled, So I decide to get a few quotes and thinking that i had to click on the declined or cancelled policy check box and after seeing how much the prices had risen, i decided to ring my old insurance company and they informed me that having your policy cancelled for non payment is not the same as being cancelled for fraud and that I didn't have to worry about checking the cancelled policy check box on any new quotes, so after reading this reply from a customer support agent it has confused.com'd me a little,

Why are you saying different ? Does each insurance company have there own set of rules ?.

    barney
Changed description of by barney to Hi I brought car insurance through Hastings smart miles with a smart box attatched On 28th December. I downloaded the app and my driving has been monitored since (3 weeks) yesterday I received and email from them to inform me my policy has been cancelled with no further explication. Upon calling I learn that the cancellation was due to the fact that I did not send them a copy of my license summary as they requested in an email sent to me on December 28th. Although i admit the fault lies with me for forgetting to forward the document I am baffled that I received no reminder for the duration of my 3 weeks driving under their policy. I asked if it was possible to forward the document and reinstate the policy but they said once it is cancelled that is it. They assure me that the finance department will be intouch with regards to a refund for the annual payment I put down but the real issue I have now is the fact that this will affect my score when applying for a new cover as obviously i now need to tick the "any previously cancelled \ claimes" box upon application. Any any advise please? Thanks .
